When children study English, it helps to develop their imagination and exposes them to literature from all around the world. Different ideas, styles, characters, cultures and themes within fictional and non-fictional texts help to broaden their minds and shape their understanding of the world. Competency in English language, reading, writing and speaking, allows pupils to not only engage in English as subject, but also to participate in all areas of the primary curriculum and beyond.
