In Year Fair Access (IYFA)

The Kingsmead School plays a key role in supporting the work of the local authority’s In Year Fair Access panel.

Derby City has recently reviewed its IYFA protocol, which covers:

  • Secondary Managed Moves
  • Secondary Hard to Place – ready for reintegration and from out of authority
  • Secondary New Arrivals, who do not speak or understand English Protocol
  • Year 11 Late Admissions

The IYFA protocol clearly outlines the responsibility of the Fair Access Panel which meets every term. In between meetings the operational work of the panel continues and is monitored by the Secondary Placement Panel.

If you need to make contact regarding the IYFA protocol or referrals then please ask for Genevieve Gordon (SEWO) or Chris Orme (Advisory Teacher for Exclusions) who are both based at our Bridge Street site, on 01332 715970. Alternatively contact Diane Whitehead (Admissions Manager) on 01332 642724.
