Access Training

 WHAT WE DO…

Construction

Access Training is a work based Learning Provider that has been successfully providing work based learning and pre-employment programmes for over 25 years. Since 2010 Access Training has provided Construction Skills courses in Derby City and currently works with Secondary Schools and Special Schools in Derby and Nottinghamshire. We are able to deliver training in construction for both KS3 and/or KS4 pupils, offering either group or individual rates.

Access Training encourages young people to develop an understanding of the construction sector through work-related learning, including hands on experience, this raises pupil expectations of progressing in to either further education or employment. At the start of the programme, the learners will have a thorough induction programme which includes health and safety, expected behaviour standards and the pupil’s responsibilities for themselves and others.

Learners can attend between half a day and 2 days per week, achieving the appropriate unit-based construction qualifications, this can include Brickwork, Plumbing, Joinery and Painting & Decorating.
